Tomorrow we are taking our new van for a 12-15 hour drive to disneyland. My son turned one a few months ago, but just started walking a few weeks ago. Now he wants to walk by himself all the time. Lets see how that works out at disneyland. My little girl is 2 and a half years old, and has recently started getting excited every time she sees Mickey Mouse. I hope she is excited when she meets the characters. With 2 little children and a pregnant wife, we broke down and are staying at the disney hotel so that we can rest whenever we want and still be in the park.  Off to pack. We leave in 18 hours. Yeah for summer vacation.

Way to pee! Way to walk!

My little boy, Heavenly Hope, and my little girl, Love and Beauty, are growing up too fast. Love and Beauty turned 2 in December…Poor little girl, having Japanese and English all mixed up in her head. 1/3 of the time, she is talking in Japanese, 1/3 of the time she is talking in English, and the other 1/3 of the time, we have no idea what she is saying. It is all so confusing!

In Japan, there is a character known as “Shimajiro”. They send toys and videos to paying customers such as us that are designed to help parents help their children grow and develop. They recently sent us things for toilet training. Today, Love and Beauty peed in the toilet for the first time! Way to pee!

Heavenly Hope is learning to walk….He turns one in May.  He is crawling all over the place, pulling himself up, taking a step, and then bangs his head falling down. Then he stands back up and tries it all over again. I am learning from him that failure is an option, and it is through trial and error, and from failing that we learn to succeed.
